B i o g r a p h y

Born in Humansdorp, I completed my primary school years mainly in Pretoria, and my high school years in Potchefstroom, South Africa. During this time, I have completed various UNISA music exams. In my leisure  time I also like to write poems and paint.

I have studied at the North-West University (NWU), Potchefstroom Campus, and obtained my Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degrees cum laude.

I was a postdoc at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, USA for one year. Upon my return to South Africa, I took up the position of senior lecturer and currently Associate Professor in Physics at the  NWU.

My research include topics in Gamma-ray Astrophysics, such as millisecond pulsars, globular clusters, and cosmic rays.
